That's a pretty neat concept; it fits the theme quite well, by the way. I found, however, that you can avoid enemies altogether without any consequence. Because they overlap each other, their projectiles do not distribute properly. Hence, you somehow have to punish the player for avoiding them.

Developer

Oh that’s true, thanks. New enemies and a repelling force between enemies could definitely solve that problem.

some animations and hardness could improve this game ! Nice job btw! Pls rate mine also :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! And sure, I can rate your game.

Great work, idea and implementation.

Some recommendations:
1. animation for running and shooting
2. make the game harder over time (more enemies, bigger enemies, enemy bullets having more effect, enemy turrets and stuff like that)

Developer

Thanks! Got all those ideas down on a to-do list, haha.

Submitted

The game could definitely do with some animations for the player and enemies. Cool concept for the game. Good job.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and kind words!

I like the Idea! The art is very cool! The shooting itself was very good! But the game lacks some polish! I don't felt like my shurikens made any damage to the enemy, they are very bullets sponges. The movement could be a little bit slower. But other than that, it is a Great job! Solid entry! Congratulations!

Developer

Thanks! Yea, the enemy health was pretty arbitrary, definitely something we should've looked more at. We also wanted to add an enemy ondamage effect, but oh well. Thanks for the praise!

a tutorial is needed. but i did like the game it was fun. i think more level design would make the game better, but overall nice game

Developer (1 edit)

Ooh, level design would be cool. As of now the game has no win-state and the most boring high score system ever. Thanks!

I do like the core idea of the game, I guess it could work very well with a more advanced level design! The sprites you made for the game are nice too, I would have like some music added to it too.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Music was going to be added but then slow building of the game got in the way, haha.

I Will point out some stuff that i found in the game :

1- why didn’t you tell us we need to keep the slider in the middle, cause i thought that the slider goes down when i got killed, not when i am in a specific side.

2- The Game is fun …. But too OP, the enemies in a short amount of time will become too much, also, isn’t there a “Hold Shooting” button ?, that would help.

3- the game is …. Just not exactly related to the theme, yeah there are 2 sides & you need to keep moving between them, but that’s just it, i would have liked something like : You Have to sides, you can only switch to one side at a time, & you need to try killing as much enemies in both sides as possible, or you will die.

Overall, not a bad game, just would have liked more, but it is understandable, Bye :D

Developer(+1)

Yea, the slider was a bit ambiguous. We originally wanted it to be a thermometer, which would have conveyed pretty clearly that you don't want it to hit the extremes. Is it too hard? We might need different difficulty levels, hmmm...

Thanks for the feedback!

No Problem :D

It's working.

Good one. There is not sound, unfortunately.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, we wanted to get around to sound and music but we didn't have time. Next time it is.

Stuck on loading(

Developer(+1)

Not anymore! (Still bad gameplay tho, haha)

Here:

This video will help you with your problem!!!
Developer(+1)

Thank you! Also, the game works now, so feel free to play.

Submitted

Happy to help!

Submitted (1 edit)

Stuck on loading, but I wanted to rate you anyways- can't let all that hard work go to waste! Would love to play when things get figured out!

EDIT: Played it! It was an interesting idea! I liked the concept and I like your take on two sides! some hopefully helpful feedback:

Feedback:

-Score UI covers the left bar at scores > 2000 (Yeah I got 2500 B)   )

-SFX? (Maybe my audio was acting up)

-a health system in addition to watching temperature

-more moves?

-hold down to shoot?

Overall, cool game! Thank you for making this! Glad its working!

Developer

Thanks for that! Also, it works now, thanks to BenBonk! So feel free to play (not that it's any good, haha)

Developer

Oh, thanks for the new feedback! :O wow big score, though I do suppose it's not too get that far. We never got around to a difficulty curve, ehe. And nope, there wasn't audio, we didn't have time. Some people are suggesting a melee weapon, hmmm...

Submitted

melee weapon would be fun! I thought audio would be quick and easy to add... it took me so long haha! I barely got any audio- did not get all I wanted for sure!

Got stuck loading :(

Developer

It's fixed now!

Submitted

Just played, fun game!

Submitted

The loading got stuck, my guess it could be because the compression format is Brotli instead of Gzip in the project settings -> player

Developer

Yup, but it's fixed now!

Wow I'm replying to way too many people I promise this isn't spam I'm just very excited

Submitted (1 edit)

Just played it, I quite like the idea.  Though the gameplay does get a little bit stale quite fast, maybe increasing the rate of temperature gain/ loss over time might spice stuff up.  But still, really good job and glad that it's fixed now :D

Developer

Thanks! It does get pretty repetitive, which could be fixed by levels, more weapons, cover, difficulty curves, etc. I'm taking notes!
