Welcome to my first templated  game jam!

Templated Fall Jam - 2024

Join up! October 21st - November 4th

Template Links: Blueprint Template | C++ Template

Gameplay Mechanic: ShapeShifting

In game development you're likely to have to learn and understand mechanics and systems that you never created. This jam will hopefully give you a small portion of that experience. You and your team at the start of the jam will be given access to an Unreal Engine 5 gameplay mechanic templates. This template has a to be revealed gameplay mechanic already created in it. Your team's job is to take this mechanic and turn it into a complete game!

While maybe not accurate to the set expectations of a major studio, you are encouraged to be creative! The mechanic may be suited for one genre of game, but you can make your genre anything you want! Create something unique, original, and complete. Please read the rules! The template also includes an already created basic main menu and options menu. This was done in Blueprints and is intended to save you time in development. It should also allow more players to try out your game if their PC is unable to run the game at max settings.

When the jam begins you'll have access to TWO github repositories to download either a Blueprint or C++ version of the template. Both template's are functionally identical. I highly encourage you to try using the C++ template if you are working in Game programming. This will help give you the most versatile experience for this jam. However, you are not going to be judged any differently based on which version you use.
