How so?
All "graphics" are made combining ascii characters, even the backgrounds.

And they're not prerendered as pngs, they are just plainly in the code and then rendered

Can you, please, explain what do you mean?
We used https://style64.org/c64-truetype Witch is "expansive set of mappings from printable ASCII,"
Is that wasn't allowed?
