Student Showcase Submissions - itch.io
Wake Tech's Simulation and Game Development department is hosting its annual student Art and Game Showcases. Entrants that have their games or art selected will be able to show them during the Wake Tech Student Showcase event on April 12 organized by the Game Development Club and sponsored by Student Activities.
Game Requirements:
- At least one member of the team will attend the Wake Tech Student Showcase event on April 12.
- Your game must be playable.
- You are required to submit a video with a video link. Your video needs to include a brief introduction of the team members and their roles, and a play-through to show off game play, features, player feedback, level design and game's victory condition. The length of this video should not exceed 5 minutes.
- Your game must include the following items:
- Main menu: title of the game, logo, team name, and a way to start the game.
- Playable section demonstrating the basic gameplay with a clear achievable goal.
- Once completed, your game should return to the main menu.
- Credits (displayed at the end of the game or on the main menu) with the name of the participants and their job titles for the project.
- All participants in the creation of the game must be current Wake Tech students.
- Game content should be rated AT MOST a T by ESRB standards.
- Each team must submit via email to Aurore Locklear (alocklear2@waketech.edu) or George Cox (gcox@waketech.edu) their contact information: team name, names of each team members, and email addresses of each team members.
- You CANNOT accept money for this game submission. If your game is not set to No Payments, it will automatically be removed from the game jam. NO E XCEPTIONS!
Art Requirements:
- Art submissions must consist of any type of original video game related 2D or 3D art with subjects such as environments, characters, and objects/props. No fan art is allowed. Content must be tasteful and non-offensive, appropriate for a teen-rated game.
- You must attend the Wake Tech Student Showcase event.
- Your file needs to be a .png file (limit of 25 MB).
- The recommended size is 1920 by 1080.
- There should not be any text on the image (no name or title)
- You should include a brief description of the artwork (one paragraph).
- 3D work should be submitted as a Sketchfab link.
- You CANNOT accept money for the submission. If you did not set your submission to No Payments, it will automatically be removed from the contest. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Voting
Public voting on these games and art work will take place during the Wake Tech Student Showcase on April 12.

How much effort should I put in? Games will be reviewed by the public and also industry professionals. We recommend you put forth the most effort you are able to.
Can we use pre-made assets for the games? Yes! Make sure to have the right to use them and include credits as needed.
What game engines are we allowed to use? All game engines are allowed.
Can we use AI generated content? NO, we expect students to generate the content they are demonstrating as it is meant for a way to display the skills they have mastered while at Wake Tech.
