THE THEME IS: "An Awful Holiday Dinner"

Hello and welcome to the Anime_IRL's discord server Christmas jam! The jam is a classic 48-hour jam with a festive holiday theme. We heavily encourage people new to game development to participate and upload something, even if it's just a basic character controller.

IMPORTANT DATES

• Theme reveal is when the jam starts on December 18th at 8PM Eastern.
• Jam end date is 48 hours later on December 20th at 8PM Eastern.

RULES

• No NSFW content - no nudity, hateful visuals or language.
• Teams are allowed.
• Existing assets are allowed, but everything must be coded/put together within the 48 hours. For example you can use whatever art assets you find or tools like Odin Inspector, but you cannot use something like the Corgi engine (both are Unity assets)
• The game must be able to run in the browser or on Windows.

Current voting categories are:

• Gameplay
• Visuals
• Festivity
• SFX

And judges will decide the victor.

For those who are newer to game development and don't know where to get started, you can learn some excellent skills from here. All you will need is a Unity account to start from the very beginning, where it'll walk you through installing the Unity game engine and managing your projects. There's also thousands of tutorials for just about anything you will want to do make! All you need to do is Google something like "2d platformer unity" and you'll find a wealth of information for what you need. You can even ask in the gamedev club channel in the discord for more specified information.
