Track description | Creative process
I tried to create my own version of a soundtrack for super mario level 1-2 undergound. i wanted to stay true to the NES hardware by only using 3 channels for the melody and 1 for percussion. the song tries to capture the unknown dangers that mario will face and the urgency to get through the level quickly.

I like all the chiptune harmonizations. Good tune!
thank you!
Good fit for the theme. I really like the chiptune percussion. Effective harmony. Nice work!
thank you. I actually thought that I made the percussion too simple. It's one of the things I think i should have worked on more. Im glad you like the harmony in the track!
Classic, simple but well crafted and with good harmony choices to fit the underground, maybe a bit too serious for the mario world.
thanks a lot for the feedback. I agree that it might sound a little too dramatic/serious for a mario game.
You nailed the vibes of this jam, limiting yourself to the original sounds makes it even better. Very good job!
thank you for your feedback. Im glad you appreciate the NES accurate limitations in the track!
Very great job! It ended a little suddenly but overall that was a minor thing. I could listen to this on a loop for hours.
thank you for the feedback. I agree that I could have ended the piece a little differently.
Good composition, and well done using the original hardware of the NES ! Same as the others, very baroque feeling to it, which I like very much ! Nice job !
thanks a lot for your feedback. I think the baroque style is a result of me originally creating the soundtrack with a piano vst and changing it to chiptune at the end. I always intended it to be chiptune but working with piano sounds helped me creatively.
I agree with the other comments, it does sound like a baroque piece in chiptune. I like the melodic progression, I think it captures the feeling of a mario level getting more dangerous as you progress through the level!
thanks for the feedback. That was indeed a feeling i was trying to capture in the track.
I love how it feels a little bit baroque
Thank you. Im glad you like it!
Cool take, sounds like a baroque melody in chiptune
thanks!
