Track description | Creative process
This track is my submission for the Alternative Soundtrack - music jam #2, found on itch.io. The prompt was to make an "alternative soundtrack" and compose a new song for the Animal Crossing - New Horizons Sunny Island area. I wanted to make it a little more lively and diverse from the original track, while still keeping that bossa nova campfire type sound. And thus, I came up with this.

So nice to hear how you took the theme to kind of an Irish folk style! I dig the rhythm and strong motif, albeit it can become a bit redundant without a part B, but surely that is the nature of many folk songs, and with improved dynamics and playing around silencing and reprising instruments it could work fantastically. I also think the track would benefit from less compression to give more air to every voice, but of course that is a matter of personal taste.

Track definately needs volume balance, it`s overcompressed) Need some quieter parts for interest and rest. But melodies are interesting, vibe is good, very creative work)

The track is very busy, but still fitting the vibe :)

Very busy and loud, feels like the piece is rushing constantly against the beat? Very original and creative tho, with some variations this track could have worked without losing its personality

The notation is CRAZY but I kinda  vibe with it!? Levels are a bit loud on my end. Very creative on my end :)

First thing: this is way too loud, and I don't know what it is but there is an issue with the kicks its really unpleasant.
Composition wise it is too repetitive, and the asynchrony of the motif could work but it doesnt sound right as it is, maybe the gap between the two melodic lines is either too big or too small. Still the instrument choice is pretty good and make sense for the game even if in the end it gave me more of a "campfire song" feel.

Did you mix this with the laptop speakers ?  Hearing this with headphones is against the Geneva convention! It's a shame because the song has potential!

I like the motiff, though the crank was a bit too loud IMO.

I feel it's a tiny bit too busy but it's lively for sure. Good submission overall, i think adding some breathing room would probably help it really standout more. Contrast is good I think :)

It's an interesting piece, but I think it suffers from big mixing problems, and the instrumentation feels a bit odd. But still not bad, you've done a good job.
