  • This is a wonderful read and brings a lot of economics thought into the AI governance framing. I like the idea of watchmen due to the analogy to technical AI oversight work. This also reminds me of the multipolar scenarios described by Drexler in his Comprehensive AI Services paper. I can completely imagine this as a great EA Forum Post about watchmen with a focus on the simulations for how to make sure they work safely and well. Let the pin factory control. Also quite curious about how you would design the Leviathan, because you can imagine some sort of democratically controlled superintelligence that works as a World Sovereign. From a baseline, that seems like a not-too-good idea, though I might be wrong!
