Background music and atmosphere you did a great job on creating! I also really appreciated the main character’s sprite and animation! It was slick and had a fun vibe. I would have appreciated some direction (just a npc) in the beginning of the game to really start off the adventure. Overall though, great job :)
Somehow, it reminded me of Lemmings, I don't know why :D Liked the background music. Well done!
Hello! So I just tried your game out and I love the 8-bit type of style you went for. I really like the ant characters design as it feels cartoony and like it came out of a western film. The controls were also pretty fun especially the jump for the character. However, It seems I've gotten stuck around after getting the white flower from the bee. Also, the transition from different maps can feel choppy sometimes and getting certain floors or falling through can cause the character to glitch out around the map.
I really hope you're able to fix these issues to make the game more playable and enjoyable.
Cute art and catchy music!
The level won't transition properly in a few rooms right after the section where you jump from platform to platform sadly, so that's the limit of where one can play. It will teleport you back to 10-ish rooms back, near the bee. Good job still!
I also got stuck where the other people said, the character controller is pretty smooth though. If the issues get fixed I can see it being really fun. You should attach the music player to the camera instead of the player though I think, its pretty jarring having it move around.
sorry, I've been working on it. the scene is not transitioning so people are getting stuck on top of the level. As for the music it is a AudioPlayer2d attached to the camera attached to the player. I didn't realize the it inherited the player's location instead of the camera's. It happens because I am setting the camera's limits instead of location. Hence how I made bigger rooms. I can fix it by making it a normal AudioPlayer instead of the AudioPlayer2d. Thank you. Working on the update right now.
Just fixed it.
aww, i got stuck, the screen won't move after i got the white floor!.
:C
but AHHH!!!, pretty great for your first game jam!!.
I just fixed that. Thanks.
Yeah got stuck and unable to progress after talking to the bee and going to the right screen, screen wouldn't shift after jumping up the platforms. Let me know when it's playable and I'll come back!
Thanks. I just fixed that and now you can enter the next room. It was just a loop, but I hope to add the NPC you deliver it too soon.
I like the character art and want to explore and learn more about the world. Unfortunately, it seemed like my character couldn't progress either on the right side or left side of the level. The camera would get stuck or something so that when I jumped up the platforms, it eventually would no longer follow.
I actually recorded my playthrough. If you want to see my impressions as I played, you can see it below (timestamp for your game in the description). Hope that can be useful!
Thanks for the feedback. Just fixed the issue with the camera and music and released an update fixing it.
it's very cute and i like the art style, but when i get the white flower from the npc and try to go to the right, the camera doesnt follow me on the ledges to hop up to, so i got stuck :( maybe i was doing something wrong! let me know and ill happily give it another full go so i can rate it :)
i just saw that getting the flower doesnt do anything-- nvm!
Just fixed the camera issue. Thanks.
