very nice, very addictive! It’s very simple but the levels are very well made. Some clever puzzles in there. I did find the third level (inthink; where the trampolines are introduced) a lot harder than all the other ones. Maybe that should be last the last... some sound would also add to the experience I think. Well done, I enjoyed it!

You're right! I also had lots of troubles in level 3.. I don't know why I didn't put it later but that's a very good idea indeed 👍 I'll probably add this change and some other cool SFX once the jam ends. Thank you very much for playing and for your feedback ☺️

Really well polished visually! Love the retro platformer look and feel, as well as the bopping soundtrack.  Gameplay is fun in bursts, though quickly gets a bit frustrating, especially when you have to jump from one end of the screen to another. Not going to expand on the time mechanics as it's already been mentioned so many times, but I think a countdown timer would make more sense, if anything. Anyway, good job with the project - it's something I could see perform well as a casual phone title. Keep it up!

Developer(+1)

I'll make sure to find a good way to tell players what crates do once the jam ends. In the meantime thank you very much for playing and for your feedback! 🥰

In terms of technicality, visuals and audio I have nothing to actually judge - game looks good, controls are responsive and plays without any error or glitch and that's appreciated. Gameplay is pretty simple, though it lacks probably more diversed levels. Game doesn't really explore that much the topic of time and the part of mechanic that relates to time isn't really explained well. Still, it's a solid and polished game and those are the most enjoyable, so overall I had fun.

Developer(+1)

I do understand what you mean regarding the time theme. Due to time I had left, I did some choices and wanted to take as less risks as possible. I have some plans to make it a full game later, so I might polish time crates mechanic a bit more and probably add some more levels, content, story, and enemy to give more context. Thank you for playing and for your feedback!

Very cute pixel art, and the music goes really well with it too. I also like the way you designed your levels around the very limited controls. There are parts where you have to jump in order to hit a block and turn around, which I thought was a very clever trick. Overall, the game is very simple but also fun and satisfying to play.

My main issue is that I don't really see how this game ties into the theme of time. I didn't actually know what the numbered boxes did until you mentioned it further down in the comments. I thought you had to hit them in order or something until I saw multiple ones with the same number. I think you could've been more creative with the time theme, like maybe boxes that slow down or speed up time (and thus speed up the character.) Also, a quality of life change that I'd make is provide an option to restart the level when I beat one. There are levels where I missed the red gem and I would've liked to try again, but it throws me into the next level immediately.

Great game overall, I had a lot of fun with it. I got a time of around four minutes and 35 seconds.

Developer

Thank you for playing, for your feedback, and for sharing your score! That's very much appreciated!

I read you, and understand. Thing is I wanted to add one more mechanic based around time to make it more relevant to the theme. Like a timer that would spam some sort of police cops that will try to catch you until you escape the level. It was already one week left for the jam, and I had that prototype working already so I had to make a decision and I took the easiest one as to not implement a new mechanic. I didn't want to take that risk and fail to upload this project. That said, I also wanted to polish more animations and stuff around time crates, but again due to the tiny amount of time I had left, I had to make some sort of decisions to focus on what I thought was the most important: levels, main mechanic, polish controls + main mechanics, a start screen, and an end screen. I don't want to argue as I do understand and agree with what you say, I just wanted to explain my choices and how it went. That said thank you very much again! ^^

I love the music and sound design, it fits the visual art and game play really well! Fun game overall, I really enjoyed it.

Developer

Thank you! Yes, Mickael (the composer) did a really great job! My briefing was as stupid as "I'd like a music that makes you feel happy and chill while stealing some carrots" and he came with this.. Haha ^^

This is some very solid gameplay and art, I like it a lot! <3 to the music/sound too

Developer

Thank you very much for playing, and your kind words!  ✨

It's like the blue shell from new super mario bros DS.

That's why I love it.

And very professional and polished.

Developer(+1)

This comparison is an honor ☺️
Thank you for playing!

This could be good fun on mobile, tap to jump, swipe down to restart! But it Construct right, isn't that HTML only? Anyway loved it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!

After adding a few more levels and some polishment, I might release it later on mobile. I didn't think about the swipe down gesture to restart, that's a very good idea!

Yes, I used Construct 3. It is an HTML5 & JavaScript based engine but you can easily export games for other platforms. For mobile, I'd export it as a Cordova project, and then using the Cordova CLI I can customize the app for both iOS and Android once.

Alternatively Construct also has some native export options for both iOS and Android. ☺️

this game on mobile can be the new flappy bird, awesome game, funny as hell, really well done

Developer

The "new flappy bird"? Wow! I wasn't expecting such comparison 🤭 Thank you! And really happy you enjoyed stealing carrots 🥕😁

I really enjoyed this game! Aside from the nice visuals and audio, I think the gameplay is simple yet fun and addicting.

Developer

Thank you! Really happy to read you enjoyed this tiny game ☺️

Liked the game, liked the graphics, liked the music.

I'm just not sure what the boxes are suppose to be?

Developer

Thank you for playing, Radam! Happy you enjoy the game so far.

Once you break a box, it will freeze time for the amount of seconds shown on it. The more you break boxes, the lower will be your time record once you complete all levels. ☺️

A very creative game!

Thank you! ✌️🥰

Watch out cause I'm on a roll, 10/10 gems in 7:38 minutes!

Its a cute game with a simple but well executed premise. Levels were harder than I thought they would be but that's just fine with me!

Only complaint is that I wanted more.

Developer(+1)

Wow! Well done! I'm feeling honored you could collect all gems in such time! ☺️

Thank you a lot for playing! I'm currently thinking about adding more levels after the jam. Something like 20. As I was running out of time I stoppes here for the jam and didn't want to take the risk of adding bugs, but I guess you can understand, haha 😅

Alternatively I might add later a basic leaderboard system and publish it on a few HTML5 websites + mobile store. I really want to keep that tiny game short & "simple".

Submitted(+1)

Eyy, beat this one. Got 8/10 gems. Gameplay is nice and simple. Easy to pickup and keep playing just one more level. Some levels were admittedly pretty frustrating due to spikes starting you over from the beginning, but seriously enjoyable! Great game, thanks for making it!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words and for playing, Vykri! ☺️ Really glad you enjoyed it! ✨

Really nice and cohesive art direction. The physics felt very nice too. My only criticism is that I sometimes made a mistake and was stuck in a chain reaction towards certain death xD

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you, Miguel! You make me realize I forgot to credit the color palette I used - Pear36 - which really helped me stick to a certain art style despite the color restriction.

Haha, I can clearly imagine these boring chain reactions you got as I had tons while play testing the game and were forced to build some debug tools to quickly go to next/previous levels for debugging more effeciently 🤭

Submitted

I still really enjoyed it, do you have some secret coding tips for those physics? They felt so consistent without seeming clunky at all!

Submitted(+1)

Great game i really liked the art and music. And the main mechanic is very interesting. I think this would make a great mobile game

Developer

Thank you, Max! ✌️ While I was developing the game, I really wanted it to be those kind of short mobile game ppl could enjoy.. So I'll probably release it on later on iOS and Android with a few more levels, and a cross platform leaderboard. ☺️

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game! The art and music for it felt perfect. The gameplay was pretty polished as well with the only bugs being the crates acting weird at times and sometimes needing to jump to turn the bunny around. https://imgur.com/a/SkRnjso

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing the game and sharing your feedback, Chris! Very much appreciated! Well done! Completing the game in 6 minutes for a first time sounds like a good performance, and thanks for the screenshot 👍

Yes, the fact the bunny changes its direction when he collides with a solid object is part of the main mechanic. Sorry to read you had some bugs, btw.

Submitted(+1)

The art and music is super nice and I feel like this would be awesome as a mobile game!

Developer

Thank you! Don't know yet, but a mobile port can ofcourse be an option later. I kept this idea in mind while developing it so why not ☺️
