Nice graphics and gameplay! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from this jam, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

You Jupiter, thanks for your new reviews!

The design was well done! I liked the progression of levels and how the mechanics were implemented as I went along. The NES feel is great, in the art and in the fight control.
Also, nice little touch in the background tiles of the final stage referencing the boss.!

Developer

Hey, thanks! That background - it's my naive interpretation of "Demon-Hearted Spire" from original famicase description, as you can see. But what could be better than some veins into those walls!

This looks and feels like an NES game, really enjoyed it!

I enjoyed the colors, reminded me of games like Monster Party and the Retro Game Challenge "Demon Returns" games.

I really dig the retro pixel art on thins one. It feels like an NES game.

Also, coming off of Ramifactor's Rusty Blade, killing things makes me sad, so I am attempting to do a no-kill run on this one, we'll see how I do.

Also, I appreciate the infinite 1-ups right at the start. Thanks!

Oh I love the part where you're abiding to actual NES restrictions. Then again, might've went with the actual resolution and authentic music, but of course it's your choice how far you take it. That way the music reminds of some Commander Keen remix and that's just as fine. Gameplay is great, reminds me of Little Nemo: The Dream Master for what that's worth. Looking forward to giving this a full playthrough!

Developer

Hey man, thanks for comment. You know, the original idea was to create a REAL NES GAME. But it's absolutely not possible during couple of weeks (even with some skills). Maybe one of these fine days..

Oh yeah, I read up on that and my eyes rolled backwards somewhere at the V-Blank. I tried to kinda faux-restrict to it but bowed out at the atribute clash. Same, maybe one of these days.
