Nice to see a roguelike cardbuilder here!

This idea is easily expandable in a full-fledged game, it reminds me of Onitama, a board game where you have units and “movement cards”. It was a particular 5x5 Chess.

I think even this game can easily and definitely be better just by reducing a lot the board. Wandering one tile at a time isn’t the best, but if the board is 4x4 or 5x5 then your idea can fit without any problem (like Michael Brough’s games, check them out).

For the rest, I liked this one and with some general polish in terms of design and fun you can go far. Congratulations for this impressive entry!

Fantastic idea for a small prototype that could be expanded with more cards and situations. I really liked it. No sound.

The general idea and design has great potential for a turn-based game, you could really upscale this to a fantastic mobile game!

Enjoyed it!

i would loose part where after you kill the enemy u have to cycle cards more and more till u get a move.. but its still fun to shuffle :)

I really like cards design! Wish there was audio too and that I will not have to go all the way to the finish.

Nicely done!

Really nice game. It was fair and straight forward. I would say this would be a great concept to work with if you do continue in the future.

The only changes I would recommend is to remove the need to use cards to move outside of combat, and just more enemy variants (mainly movement patterns). But this is a really solid base to build off of.

I was about to comment, but LewiLewi already said everything I was going to say hahaha xD Nice concept that fits the themes very well! Good job!

Very interesting game, i really liked the concept of having just two random moves per turn represented as cards in a deck. However the combat quickly became boring, hope for attack card, attack and then move back, repeat. And once all enemies were defeated it felt a bit unnecessary to have to move all the way to the finish, just cycling through my cards. I did like the little animations and art. Still had a nice experience and finished the whole game, was really hoping to get more cards besides the healing card.

Yeah, I agree. I was very much designing it as I was making it. Two cards isn’t really enough to make any sort of strategy, theres only 3 combinations of cards you can get in your hand: 2 moves, 2 attacks, or a move and an attack. If I were to do it again I would probably scrap the idea where you have to move to the goal at the end, just make the level end when you defeat all enemies. I’d also probably add cards that let you draw more cards, or even just scrap the two card limit all together and say that it fits the theme by saying it’s Just Two dimensions (which while technically true, feels like cheating). Overall I still had a lot of fun designing and making the game, and I learned a lot too. Thank you for playing and for your feedback!
