Ok, you can start by modelling in any 3D design platform of your choice, model the asset that you need, and try to do two things:
1- keep the polygon count low
2- use really low resolution textures
but how do I model it
1. open mspaint
2. draw figure
3. program your ai to finish it up
simple as, partner.
Try Blender, its an open Sorce 3D program. You can make your models, unwrap, texture, rigging, and animation all in Blender. Search on Youtube for tutorials, I recommend Grant Abbit, he made great tutorials for absolute beginners.
