  • Game's idea is nice, and there are a lot of interesting aspects, but I've found a bit of annoying problems that kept me from really enjoying the overall story. Didn't like too much your graphic choice, but it may work, once the rest is improved.
  • This was difficult. I had tremendous difficulty getting out of the door to the room and the UI was quite in the way, as well as it being tough to work out what was clickable and what wasn't. Still, I enjoyed the premise of the game and would be interested to play it again once you've had some time to work on it further.

I tried to play your game, but the controls are too difficult and the game is frustrating. I don't know how to train and I fall into a void and couldn't continue playing. There's no way to save and reload this game. The music is good, but the text is too fast. Is there a walkthrough to complete your game?

Since no one could solve your game I will comment it anyway. The idea of your game is actually good and interesting, but the dialogues are too fast. The music was wonderful. Wish you all the best of luck in improving your game. I'd like to see the improved version.

Thanks for your opinion!

I liked the music and the look of the outdoor landscape. However, like darqwerful said, the text simply doesn't stay on screen long enough, so it's hard to follow the storyline. I spent most of my playtime first trying to open the door (which you said how on the gamepage) and then trying to find my way around. The darkness adds to the atmosphere, but makes it hard to understand where you are. I got to the school and to the rune training, where I fell of an edge after learning (?) three runes. Unsure if it was a bug or not, I replayed and fell off again. I don't know if there is a save function or not, so I'll leave it there. I see darqwerful progressed further than me, so I guess there is more to it.

The game and story has potential, but an advice would be to try to make it easy for the player to understand what's going on, and easy to do what they want to do. A large room with nothing in it may look nice, but hinders gameplay. I would rather get the Black magic temptation story than be stuck trying to walk up or down stairs.

Once again I want to be sad, because then there was still half a game and you couldn’t see the coolest part of the plot, but I express my gratitude for your opinion!

If you want to polish this a bit after the jam, then I think small things to do that will improve the playability (not knowing Unity, so I may be off):

* Player must push a button before the text disappears from the screen.

* Put in the journal which buttons to use. Not all will read the itch page, so in-game info is better. I had no idea that pressing space did anything. (This may be obvious to unity users - I don't know.)

* Use different colours to show who is talking.

* If possible, implement a way to save or skip over parts you have done already. (I don't know how easy this is in unity.)

I'll try a bit more to get to the ending (there is one, I hope?), but my skills as a platform jumper are a bit limited. :-)

Thanks! Really interesting)

I really like the ambience and the unique art style. The music was good and the story was interesting. I especially liked that the protagonist was so conflicted. The text speed was too fast at some points so I found it hard to read everything.

I wasn’t able to finish the game - I finished the training and then I climbed the scaffolding next to the building. Couldn’t see anything on the roof. Tried to get the radio but was unsuccessful. The notes in the diary were very helpful, but after the training the diary was blank so wasn’t really sure what to do.

I think the game has a lot of potential so I hope you keep working on it. Would love to play a slightly more polished version. Good job, overall! :)

Thank you very much for your feedback! This was our first game jam, so we were very worried about it, but apparently the story and atmosphere turned out good, and these were priorities and thank God that the efforts were not in vain!)

How did you finish the training? I could press three arrows, and I suppose there is a puzzle hidden somewhere?

Not sure how far you got but you have to first select the “powers” you want with the number keys 1-5 and then press space to execute. This will allow you to jump, dash, etc to reach the top. The last one with the pillar was very tricky for me. I don’t remember what combination was required exactly but once you use it the pillar starts going up and you have to quickly jump on it. The second time I played it though, the pillar didn’t go up at all but I was able to do a really high jump.

I got the pillar to rise up somehow, and found the teacher on the level above. I guess I answered wrong on the question, because the game ended instantly. (Strange thing is, I have seen that conversation before, but perhaps with the neighbour.) Tried again, and this time I fell off the pillar and couldn't get on top of it again after it had gone skywards. Haven't seen any radio, so I guess you got past the conversation I failed. I realize I got the last two runes, so the final parts may utilize them somehow.

The pillar resets if you jump back down. I don’t remember answering a question at the top but I guess I must have answered correctly. I don’t remember if it was the same one as before, the text goes too quickly but I think it was different because they said you should use what you’ve learned? I don’t know, I could be wrong. After the conversation, I was transported outside/back at home.

The radio was on the third floor of a building but I don’t think it’s important.

After I came out I climbed up the building next door to our home and got an object on the roof. Then I went back to the home building and entered the apartment with all the file cabinets. Then I got a message in the diary that I should go home. Did that. Went to the school the next day. There were all these numbered doors but I couldn’t enter any of them so I gave up.

I think I’ve played it 5-6 times now so I think I’m done. Like you said, the black magic temptation story is definitely interesting and that’s what kept me going but now I’ll wait till the end of the jam to see if some of the issues are fixed in an update.
