I really liked this one. Only suggestion is I think if you die on the first level the dialogue should be able to be skipped if it was seen before. Also, I think the countdown should be able to be skipped with a click.
Other than this I really liked the visuals, I liked the concept, mechanics and idea of protecting the minnow. I also liked that you could select levels to see them whether you passed them or not as well as the fast forward within the level. Overall I think it is a really good game - so great job!
Great suggestion! I do agree, and thank you for playing! I am glad you enjoyed, and I will check out yours too!
Nice art and great music, I had fun playing your game.
Fun game, and the sprites look so good!
Loved the sharks and killer whale explaining the game to me :D
I like the idea of protecting the minnow but I kind of wished I could carry him like in the thumbnail! My first instinct in level 1 was to do so, but then I knocked him off course and learned I can't do that. Then I shot all the sharks and had to wait a while for him to get to the end, so it felt like I already beat the level but had to wait. I appreciated the fast forward button though but perhaps the overall design could be tweaked to change that wait period somehow.
Overall really nice, I liked the water animation and pixel art design for the fish/sharks!
I really like this recommendation! Because you are so right. Like I show the dolphin carrying the minnow, but then if you bump the minnow you lose which doesn't make much sense as the player. Thank you for your feedback and I will definitely have to change something in the future!!
This game has a nice gameplay loop! Honestly well done
My only suggestions are either;
1) Make that the minnow travel is sort of a level/wave timer so that you must survive the onslaught until the minnow crosses
or
2) If there's no more danger, make it an instant level complete instead of waiting for the minnow to cross (I am aware that there is a fast forward button and next button, but for a "final release" I wouldnt recommend to go in that route)
Great recommendations! Thank you for playing and enjoying and giving great feedback. Will definitely consider it if updating.
it's fun haha good job
the purple shark guy was very cool, got me laughing
wonder that this would be cool with fish with very different behaviors
I'm glad you enjoyed!
Pretty game but different pixel resolutions of sprites is a bit jarring. Gameplay is nice but a bit too easy. Nice music!
Yes unfortunately it is too easy. Also, when you say that the pixel resolutions of sprites are different, what does that mean? Because I thought that I created all of the sprites in the same pixel resolution so I am curious why it looks jarring.
Outlines seem to vary between sprites quite a bit. Also the background seems way lower resolution than the actual sprites.
Nice work on getting everything done for a game jam.
At first I kept worrying I would run out of "shots" or the sharks would return, but when I realized I had as many shots as I wanted and the sharks never came back it felt a little too easy. Maybe limiting ammo or having sharks randomly show up would add some suspense.
Otherwise, solid mechanics. Cute idea. I liked that I was protecting a little minnow.
Good luck in the jam!

Definitely a great recommendation, will do in the future if it is updated!
It is possible to not move and just quickly spam shoot the enemies, which makes things a bit too easy, otherwise a fun game! feels like a fun twist on tower defense games!
Yes very true! I was planning on adding a limit on the amount of bullets but wanted the player to be able to win without testing how many bullets were needed. And so spamming bullets is an option :)
