The boing sound effect made when exiting bubbles tickles my brain :)

I am really astounded by the fact that you're a beginner. I loved graphics. The art style, the background were great. The main menu was amazing even though it didn't have to be! The music was really fun too!
In the beginning the controls felt too snappy but I got used to them.
I didn't like level 8. It wasn't about skill as much as it was about memorization - or let's be honest; luck. Having to guess where you have to jump is not really good level design. Similarly, there were levels where I had no idea where to jump (e.g. level 3 after the bubble roundabout). As for the levels I really enjoyed, level 7 and 10 were on top, though I preferred level 7. The moving bubble was really fun though I understand if someone could say the opposite. In level 7 I especially liked the final jumps over the electric fences. They were stressful but you knew what to do and how to do it. Level 10 was slightly worse because of how long the final sequence took me. The 3, 2 1, now countdown was really slow and it felt more like 3, 2, 1, 0, -1, -2, now. This lead to the death of me many times in a row.
I really love this entry. Great job and good luck on your future games!
Quite a unique platformer! I love the simple yet fun gameplay. Music is fitting and relaxing and the bubble sound is cute. The levels do get quite hard though. Maybe an arrow pointing to the pearl would help a lot for doing jumps to the pearl that is kinda far away.
It's a cute, simple but good idea and I liked the controls, the mechanics of how you should make it from one bubble to the other, and the increasing difficulty with adding electricity for example and the rest. Overall I think it's a really good game.
Very good idea! Bubble physics and animations when entered are very good. The only thing that I'll change is that I'll create bubbles of different sizes to mantain the pixel size in all sprites.
This was a really good game with a unique idea and a bit of a challenge. I couldn't get past the 7th (I think) level where the bubble went to the right at the start; I got stuck in an endless loop of falling and restarting the level. Or maybe I'm just dumb and didn't figure out the solution. If it was a bug, I took a video of it and can send it to you.
The gameplay was really fun though, and the game itself felt polished. I also really liked the details of the bubble animations and the menu/level selection was very cool. Worthy of a great rating, for sure.
My guess is that if the movement is done via code, it might not be limited by the frame rate. If you've written the code in the _process()
method, try switching it to _physics_process()
. I don't use Godot as my main engine, so I'm not completely sure... If you have already done that or if the bubble movement is an animation, then the issue might be somewhere else. It is also possible that I'm experiencing this because of my weird setup. I have a decent 144Hz laptop which is connected to a 60Hz monitor, so that might affect the frame rate and the game's performance on my end. I hope you find the issue! I'll finish the game when it's fixed!
good work on the sound you did there
this idea made me have new ideas of how to use bubbles to limit game mechanics
Really good game. But Its quite difficult to get level 10 I guess..
really liked the style simple but beautiful and the mechanics too
Very cute! I thought you did a really good job of scaling up the difficulty as the game progressed. I had the most fun when I was moving without stopping and had a lot of momentum, making all the bubble sounds and flowing through the level.
I got a little frustrated during the first electric fence level at the part with the three little bubbles all next to each other and the fence above them. I felt like sometimes I could just go bubble to bubble without any upward trajectory, and other times I would just fall down.
cute dynamic, the bubble sound sync perfectly, it's all cute ^^
I invite you to play my game and give me some feedback as well ^^
