Interesting game! I loved the game title! Definitely in the autumn theme! I'm not used to playing turn-based games, so to me was a little difficult to understand what to do in order to battle the enemies.
Quite impressed with the creation of a turn-based tactics game. Also, the theme was quite clever, made me chuckle.
The controls during the 2D segments could really use some sharpening, and the character animation is very rudimentary. Also, while the turn-based system feels promising, in practice there really isn't much strategy--bring your character close to an enemy and let the automatic attack play out.
Really interesting idea. I think you've got an excellent basis for a Fire Emblem type game here. The battle mechanics should be communicated a little more clearly and there were a handful of bugs (nothing that you haven't documented already), but overall I thought this was fun and very ambitious for a jam. Keep working on that battle system, you already have the foundation down.
Thanks for the comments. Glad you enjoyed, and hopefully the bugs can be sorted out. I always forget there can be issues after you build your project haha.
It's all good, that's definitely one of the harder parts of game dev.
