vulturous rated Soft Underbelly

vulturous rated a narrative game 3 years ago
A browser narrative game made in HTML5.

This was cute. I really like the colour scheme and the art style, they're soft and nice and go well with the music and sfx. Especially love how the whole scene moves, is almost alive, and somehow it doesn't seem very looped or repetitive. Likely because there are three frames and not two, but nevertheless.

I didn't expect any choices; they were a fairly pleasant surprise. I certainly didn't expect to relate so completely to the narrator. Thanks for putting my own thoughts into words, I guess lol. Well-written ones too.

My only feedback would be to move the 'next' button, the little triangle, further into the bottom right corner of the text box. It obscures some of the text on longer messages. Otherwise this'd be a five-star review. It just bothers me, messes with the soft and aligned structure of everything else. I do like that sentences are broken up, it helps with the whole stream-of-consciousness vibe.

This was a nice little narrative, I liked it. Thanks, Rosa.
