For future development, I think priority should be some basic gameplay first, before adding any fauna andetra features. Maybe introduce very passive gameplay - like Eingana - have an animal/creature on each level that needs to be found/photographed/collected as specimens to save the species. They get added to a chart (like a pokedeck - gotta find them all). The creatures could also be marked on the map. Also have a stargate/portal to travel from one fractal to another so the player has the feeling of escaping/completing/progressing the levels.

You could use mynoise.net to generate/record a different soundscape for each fractal - maybe a binaural drone - kinda like the resonance frequencies each planet has, each fractal could have it's own signature sound. Wouldn't take too much effort but would elevate the game a lot.
