Version 1.1: Art Updates, Type Mechanics, Improved Balancing
This is a big update for World Bub! After 2 weekends of making updates and bug fixes, we're happy to bring the following:
- Fixed keyboard commands to correlate with the HUD keys.
- Added player/enemy turn images.
- Updated the UI when you receive a card to include a visual of the card.
- Added character sprites to the maps, including additional dialogue when you talk to them in Chilzby's lounge.
- Added final art for the overworld map.
- Added type advantages and updated battles to include those new features.
- Updated the balancing of fights to require more strategy: overall balancing and enemy positions overhauled.
- Added more cards and abilities with new boosts. All previous "out of stock" cards in the store are now available.
- Added new character dialogue when you challenge a character a second time.
- Added choices before you fight characters to allow the option to back out.
- Updated locked characters to include new visuals to further indicate criteria.
- Updated the randomization of Gair's unlockable cards.
- Updated card visuals to include more clarity, symbols, and visuals.
- Updated the options menu to include the game controls.
- Various bug fixes.
There are a few bugs we're still looking into that are inconsistent and seem to happen randomly. If you experience any of the following, here are the issues and temporary solutions:
Issue | Temporary Solution |
---|
Card visuals don't match the card stats on the first turn. | End your turn and it will reset and work on the second turn. |
The HUD with Save/Options/Deck disappears. | Return to Chilzby's lounge and talk with one of your teammates and it will return. |
A battle won't start/is missing images. | Close and reopen the game, then try again. |
We're wrapping up development on this project and looking at moving on soon. Let us know what you think of the game now that it's in its potential final iteration!
