I saved another real estate pun for the next devlog, beware!I'm sorry, I just like dad jokes that much...
Anyway! I decided to write a devlog to explain what's up!
After finishing Emerald Wasp I collected most of the criticism I had for my maps, gaining suggestions on how to get better and studing tutorials on youtube. This was so that my next game (Rule of Salt, currently in progress) wouldn't suffer from those flaws.
I saw that shiny, polished maps are very popular lately so I decided to practice and make some in that style. I used as a base the old maps from an old April Fools game I made: all the maps (in that version) were simply done in the editor. I took my time... and basically speedrun what I learnt when I joined a game jam and made maps for that too. But this is a story for another devlog!
The other reason is simple: I'm taking commissions of maps just like these and I needed examples to show. And if I have people playing them I can watch footage and gather new feedback to improve. I don't like to talk about money, but I'm doing it to save up for the steam admission fees of Deep Inside and Emerald Wasp, and this is the reason why I had the full version with a small fee. The free version though has anything you need to make a small game and a believable house, so don't worry!

I'd really love to see them being used in a game. After I made the examples I thought it'd be a shame to have them collecting dust on my computer, but since I'm developing a completely different game I didn't have plans to use them.
As you can see, I'm publishing sets of parallax maps. This is the first one, but soon I have one to follow!
I hope you will like them!
