Hello!
Vee here and long time no see! If you don't remember me, I'm the 2D art lead and 3D modelling assistant of the team. Surprisingly though, I've been doing less 2D art and more 3D art recently. That's something I never thought I would do.
A part of the reason why I said I'd be taking over the 2D art department was because I had more experience doing 2D than 3D pieces, but during these last few months, someone else did the concept art while I was busy doing some modelling in Maya. As disappointed as I am in not making any 2D art pieces, I still think I managed to get something out of this.
That being 3D Modelling experience of course!
We'll be modelling our game in Blockbench but modelling in Maya has helped me to get back in the groove of things when it comes to the 3D pipeline. The last time I did any modelling was years ago, so I've had to relearn some things. Coincidentally my personal projects align with what we're planning for our game's aesthetics since they're both stylized low-poly.
Now that I know how to do 3D modelling again, all that's left now is to learn how to use Blockbench and then we can really get things going!
