Hey! It’s been a minute since I last posted an update and Indix Infernalis just got to 100 downloads a few days ago. That’s more attention than any of my previous work has gotten, so I wanted to give my sincere thanks for checking it out, thank you! I think updates are going to be slow for some time as I recently had my first child, which takes up a liiiiiiiiittle bit of my finite free time and energy. All that aside, i’ll share what progress i’ve made since the last release.
I added a system for projecting decal textures on the map that I now use for displaying hazards on game map tiles. Also, all the rules for hazards have been implemented and added.
In existing releases, the menu for editing tokens on a unit is confusing to operate (such as when converting negative tokens to strength or speed during the Warlord’s “Quench” ability). It’s been reworked and additionally actually displays validation failures if the player inputs invalid choices.
I’ve also been making improvements on map files, their specification and features. It’s a very simple text based format with hopefully enough wiggle room to be future-proofed for extra features, and i’m hoping to provide instructions in the next release for how to make your own!
For the previous factions, I tried to get the entirety of that faction’s necromancer implemented before moving on to other units. Honestly, it made it a slog to get through and test, so now i’m chipping away at the necromancer while also implementing the other units.
