Something about Oz & my projects in general

Killer Trait
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Hey, guys! I wanted to talk about something that I've been noticing for a while.

From time to time, I get comments of people getting excited about seeing Oz as a yandere or expecting all of my new projects to have a yandere. I want to clarify that this isn't the case. While I had a lot of fun writing Crowe (Where Winter Crows Go) and Invar (Hummingbird’s Crown), I don't want to ONLY write yandere characters.

In Oz's case, I feel the confusion might have risen because the old cover art depicts him with heart-eyes. However, as I mentioned when I talked about Crowe's redesign; Oz, Arthur & Aslan will be getting redesigns too (Oz's is already finished). This is so I don't have to rely on stock sprites anymore and so that I can call these characters 100% my own. Of course, this also means that the new cover art for Killer Trait won’t depict Oz with heart eyes. And, now that we’re here on the topic, I also want to mention that, unlike WWCG, Killer Trait isn’t a horror game but a thriller.

I wanted to clarify this again, just in case, since I mentioned it some time ago and not everyone might be aware of this. I know a lot of people will be disappointed that Oz isn’t a yandere, but I don’t want to write stories just for the sake of pleasing everyone. The stories I write are, first and foremost, stories that I’m interested in writing and reading. And I don’t really like to be classified as “a yandere writer” because I like to write a different variety of characters.

I’m not saying this to make anyone feel bad, that isn't my intention at all. I just wanted to bring attention to this matter since I’ve already experienced people being mad and/or disappointed about my stories for not having a type of character or theme they expected even though the game never had those tags in the first place.

If you're looking for a yandere or horror story, Killer Trait might not be for you.

Thank you for reading!
