Indoor climate, bug fixing, resolution support, future plans
X-SurvivorA downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Happy New Year, everyone!
Updates:
- Shelters now have an indoor climate which is affected by the weather, shelter insulation, the temperature of items in the shelter, and body heat.
- Wet items should now dry properly, including those in containers.
- Fixed a bug related to unloading of containers and another bug that would make the game go into an infinite loop when the thirst level became too high.
- The game now supports multiple screen resolutions rather than just 1920 x 1080. It should be able to automatically detect the best resolution (but if there is still an issue, try changing the desired resolution in bin/JSON/GFX.json).
Plans for 2024 and beyond:
- Camouflaged clothing and hunting blinds.
- More detailed fighting system (both melee and ranged).
- More diseases (our poor survivor will suffer even more).
- Option to choose continent (affects which animals and plants that appear).
- More crafting recipes.
- Allow very long journeys at sea to discover other islands.
- Meeting indigenous people (trading, learning skills, getting eaten if they are cannibals).
These plans are subject to change. In particular, I need to think about how to make the game engaging for long sea journeys. Also, I am not sure about how indigenous people will affect the feeling of loneliness/isolation that I find an important part of the game.
Best regards,
Christian
