IMPORTANT FIX: Housegame v1.1
Posted December 30, 2023 by Squmme
Hello, I have recently received a notice from someone that experienced a possible crash in the launch version of the game, that happens in the transitions between scenes. It also happened to me once in previous, but I thought nothing of it at the time. Foolish! This appeared to be a specific issue with the version of Godot I was using. The primary focus of this update was migrating the game to the updated engine so this hopefully won't happen again. I strongly recommend you re-download the game, if you already did but didn't play it yet. Just know for reference that the game should never close on its own, and it is only over after the credits scroll past.
CHANGELOG:
- Migrated to Godot 4.2 in hopes of avoiding crashes in scene transitions. Please do let me know if this seemingly broke anything else!
- Restructured a whole lot of the animations. (there shouldn't be a tangible difference, but it throws less errors at me now)
- Fixed an embarrassing Y-sorting error with one object.
- Hopefully compensated for lag possibly making the transitions of two particular scenes awkward.
- Volume sliders in the settings menu have less granularity now. I found the ambiguity a bit annoying before, but still don't want to resort to visible numbers. UGH!
- Made the start of a certain area slightly darker. Half-going back on a compromise.
- Added a SECRET DEBUG KEYBIND to go to a level selection menu at any point. I don't know if it's a good idea to disclose this in the open yet, so I won't for now.
Thanks for your consideration.
