I swear I wrote a devlog the day before yesterday. What happened to it?
I suppose I'll have to remember what I said there.
In the past four days, I have composed:
"Scholars of Unknown Slumber", a somewhat cozy and highly melodic piece inspired by a friend's suggestion.
"Chiseled in Mist", a monophonic etude for a distorted synth, which employs a compositional strategy I used to practice a lot. The song was written linearly, rather than arranged, giving it an almost improvisational feel.
"Malformed Prefigurations", a short yet energetic chunk of electronic, employ more experimental drums than usual. Most of that day was spent on other projects, leaving me without time and energy to compose more than a minute — this the first time track shorter than a minute and half since October 5th!
"Hold Thy Stride Until Heaven Weeps", a distorted, dissonant, high tempo track. When I first started making music, I dreamed of emulating metal. For once, this was a deliberate attempt to write a full length track. While I'm fond of the result, I have to wonder if this month's best days are behind me.
You may have noticed another change — this album has cover art now! We've reached 50 minutes of material, so I figured it's earned it at this point.
Stay tuned!
