Hello everyone!
I am an architect by profession, but recently, I have been learning to program in C++ to develop the game "Terra de Santa Cruz" as a hobby and to pay homage to the culture of my country. I don't know... Brazilian ancestry is so rich that I was thinking "Why can't I attach a little bit more to my roots while I learn a new skill?" I admit that at first, I faced some difficulties as my prior experience with games was limited to modeling (because, yeah... archviz can help with that) and the artistic side my college finally being useful for something of games. However, I am dedicated to learning and overcoming these challenges.
The most challenging part, until now, has been the logic behind programming, but at the same time, it's the most rewarding. It's amazing to see how the pieces start to fit together and see my progress every day. You can check all of that with my first release... my walk simulator game lol. I have created a main menu with a fancy background, UI buttons that make cool sounds, and some settings buttons to increase or decrease the quality of the game (buttons that don't really work... I will fix that later).
My next goal, after I finish learning the basics of C++, is to start the Farm Mechanics. I will set up everything while fitting it with colonial Brazilian agriculture. I think that is going to be cool. Let's see what I can do.
I am excited to continue this learning process and see where it takes me. The development of "Terra de Santa Cruz" is something I am doing with a lot of love and dedication, and I am eager to share the final result with the world.
