Day 1:
07/01/2023
Started over again from previous idea. Still harvesting plants in space, but a simpler art style and top-down now instead.
Quicky added hoe-ing, planting and watering mechanics.
Implemented a word-less tutorial. First it prompts you to move (WASD), at which point a postbox-asteroid attaches itself to your asteroid. Going to it gives you some seeds. After you plant some, the asteroid containing your rocket arrives. You can enter it and fly around!
Day 2:

Added pick up-able seeds and 4 stage-growing sprites for the plants (twirly melons?).
Added several different seed variants (just hue-shifted version of the first seed for now). They're all pick up-able and go to their respective slots in your inventory. Oh yeah:
Added a simple inventory to the top left of the screen.
Day 3:

Considered adding customisable facial features such as eyes. <-- will revisit this at a later date!
Current build ^
Added a tiny intro scene of the rocket crashing and release the tech demo, minute before the deadline! Phew!
Day 4:

I'll probably make the starting island smaller again and slowly add some of the multitude of features I've got noted down, such as:
Mouse control?
Harvesting animation (not just re-using the hoe-ing sprite)
Adding diagonal movement
Add a map (usable by pressing M)
Adjust plant hitbox to avoid "double-harvesting" glitch
And many, many more - such as NPCs and story elements!
