Heyyy, Happy New Year!
I took a little break from development around Christmas and part of New Years.
So, progress as of my last devlog(aside from those times) I was mostly started reworking sprites, doing more code placements and did some music composing.
To break things down;
General Art;
-Added another Rosie sprite that I originally started work on last year.
-If you follow my Twitter, you see recently I decided to rework all character sprites to blink. I had been debating with myself since Nix Day's inception to do so but obviously hesitated. I was mostly worried about lag since those animations will be working against the snow atl animations in the background constantly.
Can see it in video form here on my twitter; https://twitter.com/Miseague/status/1611930287197327362?s=20&t=-iL0mj1uN8hjmaBRH...
But I put a few gifs below too;
I have also been thinking about adding lip flap animations since I already am adding sounds to textbox dialog. I'll need to figure that out a little later though. That would extend my development time, and I have plans to have Nix Day out at the end of the year. I'd hate to keep pushing it back, so we'll see.
-Fixing up/cleaning previous CG sketches.
Programming;
-More code placements for future things happening in the game. Also cleaning up demo code.
Op Animation;
-Nothing much to report on here.
GUI;
-Also not much to report on here.
Music;
-Worked on the op theme a little more. Somehow it ended up sounding like the theme I had in mind for one of the characters in the game though lol Not sure how that happened. That's almost done. This particular theme is a surprise as its a integral part of Nix Day's story, so I won't be adding it to any devlogs.
Once I get more work done on the op theme I will be posting that.
That is where I am thus far. Until the next devlog, I will be continuing to rework the rest of the sprites to blink, music and get back to overhauling the GUI.
Thank you for reading, see ya next time!
