Well, there are a couple of reasons I am taking this course but for one it was highly recommended to me by friends who took it last semester during its first semester in existence. They told me about the rotating schedule of projects and a laid-back feel to the class overall which made me shift from interested to actually registering for the course.
Also, I am a big gamer and have been since I was a young kid whose first gaming experience was Pokemon Gold on Gameboy Color, since then I have kept up with each generation gaming has gone through to today.
Another reason for me taking this class is wanting to peek behind the game dev curtain even just a little bit. As a consumer of games, I take for granted the creative process and the x's and o's of game development. Hopefully, I will develop a better understanding of what it takes to make a game and be able to look at them more critically as a result.
The games I currently play is a large spectrum, there are casual type of games I can always play at random like Mario Party, and then more story-driven games like Death Stranding I recently completed. Now my actual favorite genre of games is turn-based RPG's but the genre has been overtaken by action RPG'S so they come out rarely but when they do that's the most fun I have with games. Examples of turn-based games I enjoy are games from the Persona series, Pokemon, Dragon Quest, and Final Fantasy.
