It's been a while since I uploaded FlyJump 0.1 (the first, gamejam version) but the update's complete!
There are 3 new stages and the first one has been remade. There's also more gameplay elements, qol features, design variety, etc.
Here's a breakdown of the update:
The physics of the main stages have been polished and are slightly different than before. In all levels the input's fairer now.
Besides input and physics changes there's also some new gameplay elements, including:
⦁ Glass blocks - don't kill you upon contact.
⦁ Pads - activate your abilities (jump, dash and dive) when in range.
⦁ Keys and gates - keys open the gates (all gates in the level) when collected.
As stated before, there's 3 new stages, these being:
Cave - the easiest stage, introducing basic game mechanics in a more friendly way.
City - this stage's more challenging, but also fairly easy. It uses a new mechanic: pads.
Ruins - so far the most challenging main stage. Uses the basic mechanics along with keys and gates.
The 0.1 stage has been named Ancient and uses the old physics. It's available in extras.
There's way more blocks, which allows the levels to differ between each other. Some of the blocks are visible in the update's icon (along with the new pads). Levels also have a set theme according to the name.
The main menu has also been polished.
You can now go back to the menu through the pause menu (something which you couldn't do in the first release). Besides that there's an options menu, through which you can change the volume and enable or disable the speedrun UI. You can access it through the pause or the main menu.
- The game got sound effects and the main theme has been polished.
- Bug fixes.
- A playground level, used instead of the teased 4th main level, Hell.
