After pushing this out, I realized that this game would actually work really well without any dice at all, and in-fact may work better that way.
So I made a diceless variant and stripped D6's out. To take over Channeling while using this variant, you simply spend a Channeling Point (as long as the current Channeler has been at it at least 5 minutes) and take over.
This eliminates the decidedly un-fun scenario where one Medium never gets to channel because of bad die rolls. Everyone will get a chance. Spirit hogs will run out of points first.
It may also make sense to house rule the Channeling Points at a lower starting value if you have really good guessers at your table.
