Kenney Jam 2021 - "Fun" for the whole family

KenneyJam 2021 - Rotations
A browser game made in HTML5

This build has a lot of major changes, starting with better camera controls. DO NOT TOUCH THE MIDDLE BUTTON OR SCROLL WHEEL! The middle/scroll is broken in the WebGL build, and it's a royal pain to "line up" stars to aim your fleet at. So the right-click does everything, rotates, pans with shift and zooms with alt. And speaking of fleets...

You can now send them places. So yes, the ships building up at your home world can now be sent off to new stars, and they will build a new industrial base starting at 1... Unless there are enemy ships already there, in which case they will fight until one remains. The winner will claim (or keep) the star. Since the AI is still MIA, the only stars with enemies are still the opposing home planets.

The aiming was doing crazy things so I added another diagnostic line that shows where the sight lines were for the last attempt to send a fleet (successful, or not). It also gives you an idea of how far the limit is before it won't send anything.

I still need a lot of work on the "game", including (but not limited to):

  • Making the opponents do something.
  • Showing some indicator of which systems have more resources, and using them to adjust building rates.
  • Showing you what your systems hold, right now you can't tell if there's 1 ship or a thousand.
  • Major tuning for the building, fighting and traveling.

If nothing else, the idea I had in my head when the jam started is actually taking form.
