Weekly Dev Update #59
Week of Aug 27th, 2021
Things have settled down a bit for us. We’ve been working on a couple of things to add some life to our little world (like animations, which we showed last update) and laying the groundwork for our next feature update. We're also doubling back to work on some updates to the store page, including a new gameplay trailer - more on that later. For now, let’s just see what our artist Sarah has been up to!
Demo Update 0.0.3.7
Patched a few bugs - Quest bug, Fish Tank VFX bug, and boat collision with fish navigation point bug are all fixed.
Portal Statues
There’s ancient magic at work in Kaiju Fishing and the fish are of a different world from ours. We’ve talked about it before, but portals will be how new fish populate this world. The portals that allow for strange creatures to pass between worlds are tied to mysterious stone carvings and these will allow you to interact with the portals, summoning new ones and changing the forms of others to invite different fish for you to catch.
There are other secrets hidden in the carvings, but we’ll leave those to your imaginations for now.
