I created a simple barrel model and a more complex model of the Bruny Island Lighthouse.
The Barrel was constructed out of a cylinder shaped mesh (essentially a blank 3-D object) and then the two metal rings were constructed out of 2 identical cylinder meshes. I created the original cylinder then using 2 extrude actions I created a lip on the top of the barrel, I then deleted the bottom half of the barrel and mirrored the remaining half so as to ensure the lip was identical on both sides. Finally I created the two additional cylinders and coloured in all the materials. I then unwrapped the shapes by defining the edges of the shapes and then using the unwrap command to create a flat texture map of the barrel components. Finally I used the bake command to create a shadowed effect on the barrel.
The Lighthouse is made up of several cylinders, a sphere and a cube to create the basic shape. I unwrapped each component as previously described and created several texture maps. I then located several stock images to create use as my textures. I edited these onto the texture maps using an external image editor then applied them to the appropriate sections
