I'm so pleased with progress this past week. There was a cluster of bugs on my to-do list for over a year because I wasn't sure how I'd fix them, and recently I knocked them all out! Some of these changes include fixing a bug that would cause the blonde doll to freeze if the player ran head first into her. I also pared down the word input UI by getting rid of symbols the player will never use and eliminating the capitol letters.
By eliminating capitol letters, I don't have to run a crazy amount of conditional statements to see if the player gave the right answer.
Let's say the answer to a puzzle is "blue." The game would have to check if the player submitted "BLUE", "blue", or "Blue." It was very icky, and didn't check if the player submitted something like "bLuE."
More spelling errors have been fixed too.
These are the things that you guys will notice with the new demo build. There has been a lot progress beyond what can be publicly played.
