Game no2 - Let's get started

Rice Wars
A browser game made in HTML5
This course is great and I highly recommend it.

Now that I've published my first game on itch.io, I feel more confident for this next project. I'm going to make a 2D Top-Down Shooter using Unity. I'll be following BlackthornProd's course on Udemy.

Naming the game and designing the title.

As you can see,  I sketched a few ideas in Clip Studio Paint using a color palette I found on Lospec.

Drawing the characters

This is my favourite part of the process. It's quite scary at first because sometimes you don't know what to draw or it doesn't look right but eventually you end up with something cool like this rice cooker and that onigiri.

This is one of the enemies, a cute onigiri.

This is the main character, a rice cooker using his hot rice as a weapon.

Prototyping

Now that I have a few drawings down, I can work on the basic game prototype : shooting and enemy behaviour.

You move with the arrow keys and shoot with the left mouse button.

I'm pretty happy with what I've got so far. I still have a lot to do but I'm enjoying the process :)
