Release notes for Onslaught 20.09.11.1603
OnslaughtA downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
Another day, another build. Here’s what you have to look forward to in version 20.09.11.1603:
- Saucer sounds were downsampled to mono.
- The master audio volume is now correctly set on launch.
- Hyperjump is now more difficult to trigger on analogue sticks. Let me know if this should be tweaked further.
- Changed the wall pitches. The north and south walls are lower-pitch, while the east and west are higher. If this mechanic works, I’ll update the documentation, tutorial, and Learn Sounds menu accordingly.
- In some cases, snapping happened way too quickly. Snapping to the nearest cardinal direction should now behave correctly.
- Directions are announced when rotated past. I went with cardinal since they’re shorter and more intuitive.
- Announcing the snapped-to course was removed in favor of the previous directional announcements.
Next I’ll be working on making asteroids you’re about to ram more obvious. I’ve laid the groundwork for the mechanic I have in mind, but I’ll need to understand some lower-level Godot concepts first, and didn’t have time this week.
Thanks and enjoy.
