Challenge 6: VFX

Winters Grove

Today, I went in and added some 

VFX

These VFX are intended to resemble fireflies. 

(For the video, I decreased my games lighting to show  off the effect to the max, but it will be used with much more visibility for the player.)

I Wanted to induce a cozy, and wonderous feel, each step of the way in my game. Fireflies are both magical feeling, and cozy. They of course also tell the player it is dusk. The entire purpose of these is to feed the feel of the area. They also help tell the player they are out doors and almost safe at this point of the level. I am still tweaking my level lighting to feel just right, But I hope to incorporate my fireflies into it to make it feel 'just right'

I Would like to focus on adjusting it for performance, but I am not sure if it's needed or not yet, since I want to minimize the amount of VFX needed, since I like the low poly simplicity. 

Tutorial I followed: 

Some changes I made to this is I made the radius a sphere, increased the distribution and size to allow for less crowded fireflies, and decreased spawn rate. I didn't want them to be too distracting, and feel natural.
