Sounds in the final stretch - Aqeel's devlog

Boom! Haunted
A downloadable game

Overview

We only have a little more time left until the end of the quarter. With that in mind my team and I are trying to focus on what is most important for our game to reach the finish line. This week we worked on our dialogue, final setups, and some polishing.

Dialogues

This was so much fun. We reserved a sound room and were able to record most of our dialogues. I never realized how amazing these rooms are. We did run into a little trouble at some points with the sound but we worked our way through them. We also plan to go back on Tuesday so we can rerecord anything that we deem necessary. However, as of right now, I would say we are in really good shape.

Final Setups

I got everything in the unity project pretty much setup for whenever we finish mixing our sounds. All we will have to do is replace some of audio sources and then we will be all set. Other than that we just have some polishing to do such as adding lights and sound effects. Lavanya is going to replace some of the items in the room and Sana is going to finish the sitting model for Timmy.

Polish

The flying now feels a lot better. Instead of having to mash the space bar, you can hold down to float upwards and then release to stop. Moving around also feels a lot more natural, as I have adjusted move speed and such. Other than that, players are now prompted to interact with items with a specific button, giving the player a better sense of what they can do and what they need to do. Alas, there is still much to do. Bugs to be squashed, polish to be polished with, and comedy to be implemented. Back into the mines I go.
