0.5.0 | Public Release and Changelog

I’m thrilled to announce that the 0.5.0 build for SALT SWEEPER is officially live on the itch.io page!

This update marks a huge step forward — it’s been one of the most ambitious and experimental builds yet, and I’m beyond excited for you all to dive in and see what’s new.

This version brings major gameplay overhauls, new systems, and tons of polish across the board. Check out the full changelog for all the details~

Recommended: Please start a new save when playing this build. There have been major internal changes to data and progression systems that could cause issues with older saves. Starting fresh will give you the smoothest and most stable experience.

Major Changes

• Added Turn Order System – Combat now follows a visible turn sequence for clearer strategy.,
• Added Weapon Speed – Each weapon now has a unique speed stat that influences turn order.,
• New Loot Generation System – Loot is now percentage-based, improving item variety and balance.,
• Added 9 New Weapons – Expands player options with new weapon types and effects.,
• Added Two Rings – Rings grant unique bonuses and can now be equipped.,
• Added Art for Each Ring – Distinct visuals for all rings, matching their rarity and effects.,
• Freya Events Expanded – Freya can now give blue potions, red potions, and keys as part of her storyline.,

• Fixed bug allowing players to skip floors.,
• Fixed bug with magic damage values in the shop.,
• Fixed bug where enemy sound effects played after death.,
• Fixed spells not appearing correctly when equipped.,
• Fixed armor duplication bug when equipping the ring.,
• Fixed magic damage calculation on weapons.,
• Added screen effects when moving tiles,
• Various performance and stability improvements.
