πŸ”§ Update v1.5 – Jump Loops, Pickup, Death & Talk Animations

Urban Side View Pack [All-in-One]
A downloadable asset pack

Hey there, devs! πŸ‘‹

With this update, I’m wrapping up the first complete version of the Default Male character, which will serve as the foundation for all future characters in the pack. In upcoming updates, I’ll keep expanding his animation set to cover more states and situations, but next I want to focus on environment assets to start building the world around him.

πŸ”§ Update v1.5 – Jump Loops, Pickup, Death & Talk Animations

This version comes packed with more animations than any previous update. The new Jump_Up_Loop and Jump_Fall_Loop complete the jump cycle introduced earlier, allowing the animation to adapt smoothly to any in-game situation or height. Pick-up_Ground opens the door to basic object interaction mechanics, while the new Talk poses help express personality during dialogue scenes or cutscenes.

And finally, the Death animation makes its debut. It’s a full 16-frame sequence carefully crafted to deliver a satisfying and dramatic fall. It’s one of those rare animations that truly adds polish to a pack like this.

πŸ†• New animations:

βœ… Default Male / Jump_Up_Loop (3 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Jump_Fall_Loop (3 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Talk_Excited (4 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Talk_Sad (4 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Talk_Angry (4 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Talk_Doubtful (4 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Pick-up_Ground (3 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Death (16 frames)

πŸ›  Fixes & Improvements

  • Added a missing outline detail on the boot to ensure a cohesive character design.
  • All files have been updated and re-exported since this fix affected most source assets. Just overwrite your current files to stay up to date.

As always, every animation is available in multiple formats: PNG frame sequences, sprite sheets (with and without trim), GIF previews, and the editable .AI source file.

πŸ—’ Personal note

This update took longer than expected because it included a much larger batch of animations than usual, and some of them (like the Death one with 16 frames) added extra workload to the process. On top of that, I also became a dad! πŸ‘Ά Which, as you can imagine, changes the pace of everything a bit. Still, I wanted to make sure every new animation met the same standard of quality that defines the pack. For future updates, I’ll aim for a more balanced workload to keep things moving at a steady rhythm without compromising detail.

Thanks again for all your support and feedback, it truly shapes the direction of this project. Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas in the community section!

— Daniel
