Dev Log – Mate’Morphosis

We’ve got some exciting news to share: after the demo launch, Mate’Morphosis has been indexed on itch.io and even made it onto the New & Popular page! This has been a huge motivation boost for us, and we couldn’t have done it without your support.

We’ve received a lot of encouraging feedback since the demo went live, and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to play and share their thoughts. Your comments have helped us better understand what works, what needs improvement, and what to focus on as we move forward.

As part of this update, we also want to be transparent about the issues that still remain and the features we’re planning to add in the future.

🐞 Known Bugs

• Number 3.
• An issue where the settings panel stayed open after closing the pause menu.
• A UI glitch that caused the move log to shift down after using undo.
• A bug where the promotion panel still appears even after losing.
• Several minor graphical glitches.
• Under certain unknown conditions, all items on the screen become moveable.

🔮 Planned Features

• Improved tooltips: players can now more clearly see what will happen if they move to the hovered square.
• We’re improving the music to make playing the game more enjoyable for everyone.
• Pressing the Play button twice on the main menu now correctly opens the current level.
• Display key bindings in the settings menu. 
• Touch keyboard support.
• Controller support.
• New piece variations.
• Different board variations.
• Localization for multiple languages.
