Hi guys! It's Bowser :3.
Fall's around the corner, and I thought I'd give you all some updates!
Let's start off with an apology. The ChoPro factory isn't running as quickly as I'd like. This is 100% due to me keeping myself booked and busy with cons, events, Furality work, and day-job stuff. My team have been miracle workers, I'm the one slacking.
I wish I could say that things will be getting better, but I'm looking at a very busy fall. Renn fest dates, Furpocalypse, and a family vacation are all looming for September and October. As of now, I'd be shocked if I could get Episode 8 released before November.
On top of all that, I've been in a writing rut for the mainline Chord Progressions story. This was part of the reason why I chose to start "Project Legato". Getting stuck on the mainline story inspired me to start writing a side story.
I'll get past it! Don't worry. Writer's block is nothing I can't overcome and I'm already making good progress! As of typing, I'm about 4,000 words into the script.
Luckily for us, since this is a team endeavor, I already have my artists work on some new projects!
Quick reminder that the best place for ChoPro updates will be BlueSky. Twitter is becoming increasingly more hostile towards the existence for FVN creators. As I'm sure everyone knows, the platform is experiencing a conservative ideology creep. Queer art, by its mere existence, spits in the face of conservatism. As the demographics of Twitter morph and change, so do the prominent attitudes towards queer art.
I'm in the process of making Twitter an "update only" platform. All I'll be doing is posting dev logs and announcements. I'll be focusing on making BlueSky the exclusive place to post the silly memes, sneak-peeks, hot takes, and my general yapping.
Now, you might be asking why I'm not completely abandoning Twitter… and that's a damn good question, tbh 🙂
Honest answer is that I'm nervous about completely abandoning the following I've garnered on there, and I'm especially nervous after itchpocalypse. Without itch, Twitter is (unfortunately) the platform where I have the most reach. At the end of the day, that "9,000" follower count don't mean much when half of those accounts are bots and/or inactive. But it's undeniable that, next to itch, it's the most popular platform for discovery. I'd like to part ways eventually, but for now, I'll hold onto it.
Yapping aside, most of your favorite FVN creators are also on BlueSky! Here are some cool friends you can follow!
Don't forget to add the Furry List to your pinned feeds. This will give you a timeline of every post made with the hashtag #FurryVN. You'll find tons of cool projects from furry developers every day in that feed. You don't want to miss out!
In other news, the fight for the existence of FVN's is continuing. In case you're not aware, payment processors like Visa, MasterCard, Stripe, and PayPal have been pressuring online digital marketplaces like itch, Gumroad, Patreon, Steam, and others to restrict the sale of adult content. The FVN community is largely made up of adult content, and losing access to platforms like itch means losing access to our marketing, funding, and general public access.
Right now, there's an ongoing campaign to tell payment processors enough is enough. A great resource I've been sharing is https://yellat.money . This site gives you instructions on how you can help fight back. Please help me and my friends continue to fight back against groups who are attempting to silence us.
Thank you for bearing with me while I yell at clouds. Have a nice pinup of Eddy by the wonderful TazAa as a treat! Enjoy the rest of your summer, and thanks for reading! :3
