They got a good scope of the different tropes in mecha anime. Solo journal games aren't my thing, but I might try this out.
About post-mecha and the Eva movies. Strong recommend.

Maybe giant stompy robots, but definitely robots.
This is like a bass-boosted max mad post-apocalypse but everyone's cars are actually robots and it's not a hellscape of a desert. Also bureaucracy.
