after playing around 150 of the 900+ entries, here are my favorites from Acerola Jam 0!
see also my honorable mentions, etc (if you're weird).
(my entry was Geometric Dreams)
both a non-game and a meta-game at the same time, this one still haunts me.
> "One day, the person in this room will die of old age. ... The game is then, who will die first, you or the imprisoned? In the meantime, appreciate the aesthetics."
a mind-blowing walking sim with an impressive variety of scenes.
> "A short stroll through the unexpected."
a gorgeous curiosity — an anti-game that's different every time you play it.
> "a game of no purpose"
just pick out a fabric that fits the bill, how hard can it be?
> "This is a game about choosing fabric in a fabric store."
the best use of gravity in a video game since Super Mario Galaxy. check out Florian Castel's insane speedrun!
> "Explore the abandoned Gravitational Aberration Research Facility and restore balance to the local ecosystem."
a slick, unforgiving golf game with a fantastic minimal aesthetic.
> "Golfing in the darkness of the night. Movement attracts the swarm..."
a hilarious game with really novel gameplay and a great challenge curve.
> "The Gnorms do not take kindly to outsiders, so you must follow their movements precisely to blend in."
a hilarious little rhythm game with some really tricky gimmicks.
> "Keep with the beat of the marching ants!"
a bloody good time!
> "It's an undesirable phenomenon."
a silly platformer that keeps randomizing the controls until you're playing finger-Twister. there's even an online leaderboard!
> "Jump for your life!"
a really cool tech demo, wrapped in a nostalgic minigame.
> "A tribute to the minigames of the Zelda series, and a demonstration of a new technique for real-time water refraction."
a lovely disaster. the biggest aberration of the jam.
> "Click and drag"
