For me the theme, "Small World," evoked a sense of being forced into close (extended) proximity with someone you love.

When you are trapped together, it adds a pressure that is absent when you are apart.

Instead of writing dialog for this game jam, I experimented with having an argument between two characters using only emojis/icons inside of overhead cartoon balloons.

A sad game, if you let it be.

There wasn't enough time to write much lore or dialog for this game (due to technical difficulties) before the jam clock ran out, but what is there is a mix of humor and grieving. -You find yourself in a half-destroyed facility of some sort, and are discovering this 3D world just as these people who lived here seem to be leaving that world - rather: they are forced out of their world.

If you allow yourself, there is just enough of this world for you to roleplay and regret that you did not see this world before the bad things happened.

MAKE A 3D GAME - Just get it done!

That was the premise of GameDev Unlocked's 7 Day game challenge. After learning how many students still had not posted a game on itch.io, the course I followed was created to help shift the mindset of aspiring game devs, and help them get an actual (if small) game out into the world.

This game used Asset Forge blocks to help rapidly create a setting - and I used several models made from those same Asset Forge blocks for previous (then abandoned) projects.

The music I composed myself, and because I did not have a sound effect library at the time, I decided to make the music an integral part of the gameplay - when you pick up the 5 needed items, each one adds an instrument to the music playing.
