i love spellmaking

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

i love the aesthetic of this. about making a character and seeing their life. "ghibli-esk"

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

yet another feelings-filled game about mortality, but this time as a guardian for an ancient place

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

appears to be a game about exploring a cosmically horrored manor, it says its a "solitaire journaling game" but idk what that means

From the page:

The Portal at Hill House is a solitaire journaling game of cosmic horror

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

a simple game about deciding your life's fate as an apothecarial witch ;P

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

this is more into the vein of a solo ttrpg, focusing on a more combat-y world and gameplay, but still seems interesting

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

a game about running an apothecary for a missing witch, looks fun and quaint

From the page:

Apothecaria is intended to be a long term game and while you can rush through to discover what happened to the missing witch, I feel that its much funner to take your time and expand on the various discoveries that prompt you to create the world and characters around you.

now be very careful with this one, this is by far the closest for triggering for me that ive seen, but this is about understanding yourself after memory loss

From the page:

You play as an individual who has woken up with memory loss. You do not remember who you are, where you are, or what you care about. As you draw tarot cards, you fill the blank spaces of your past and learn more about your present.

A little game about making a little religion inspired by nature and the divine

From the page:

The game invites you to create a fantasy religion inspired by elements of nature, and to then explore how time, events, and individuals shape the practice and meaning of that religion. It also invites you to write, draw, cut and paste, and to  make your own rules. You can treat it as a one-off experience, use it for worldbuilding, or slot it into an existing campaign.

similar to that airship game from earlier, this instead focuses on a magic artifact as it passes between people, being changed and lost time and time again, as you can expect, it likely focuses on change, relationships, and mortality

From the page:

Quite a few folks have told me that playing the game was restorative for them. It’s obviously mainly about making RAD STORIES about RAD MAGIC, but the idea that you might feel better after playing it is really nice to consider.

A game about running a tea shop for recently deceased, obviously focuses on death and mortality

From the page:

You will need:

  • An hour or so of quiet time
  • Pen and paper
  • One or two six-sided dice
  • Tea (optional, but recommended)

A neat character creation game, getting a little further away from journaling here, but i dont care, its my collection

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

a cute game about a witch in the prime time of their life trying to understand themselves and their magic, uses the same system as thousand year old vampire

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

Very introspective piece about living as a, well, thousand year old vampire. focuses on loss and time and mortality, similar to that airship one

I have the physical edition, definitely get that if you can, it is just visually stunning

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

a funky little thing that appears to be about working at a convenience store in an urban fantasy environment

From the Page:

We designed the game to be played with a penny and a bag of M&Ms, but we have included instructions for playing with a D6 or Chex Mix. Alternatively, you may use any other snack-type food that comes in variations of 6. Additionally, you might need a pen or pencil to take notes and fill out the incident report!

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

this is a more game-based thing. about managing real estate in a fantasy world. uses traditional cards. definitely something im considering playing

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

Awesome idea, definitely want this physical edition. About exploring your own worlds. More documentation focused than others

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

Focused on exploration and understanding, this looks fun and sciency, for those who like sciency things.

From the page:

Bigots and Science Deniers are not welcome in my community. I will not accept their money or feedback.

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

Story making game. I believe this spawned many others that use the same/similar rules.

Uses third person and a tarot deck

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

A more narrative-focused journaling rpg that focuses on dystopian cyberpunk cities and you as a person within them.

From the page:

In these filthy streets, teeming with flesh-and-bone bodies, as well as metal and hybrids, you are part of The Calamity—an ancient clan of powerful vampires—and must survive challenges such as war, assassination contracts, theft, hunters, corporations, religious zealots, domineering gangs and other clans.

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

Uses the Wretched and Alone rule system. Focuses on murder mystery and is clearly inspired by lighthearted murder mysteries like Clue. Could be fun if murder and such is fine.

From the page:

Content Warning: Enclosed inside, you will find themes that can relate to murder, violence, animal harm, occultism, blood, body harm.

Added Nov 17, 2022 by villi var

Completely metal, absolutely heretical. Reminds me of Thor: Love and Thunder. Focuses on gods and their tyranny, so might be a little too much for traditionally calm and peaceful people.

From the page:

Content Warning: This a game about generating and narrating situations of oppression and prejudice - although it is aimed at fighting them and destroying those responsible. The prompts are vague enough to allow players to take their stories wherever they feel safe - so please respect your boundaries while playing! Your safety is what matters the most!
