Content I have written for Wanderhome , under the third party licence and Hæth Grant terms.
A business card-size version of Wanderhome, for when you are travelling on the road.
This 7 page document is intended to help you introduce and run Wanderhome, and shows one way the game and play sessions could be run. It’s not showing the “right” way to play, as what works best for you will depend on your group!
The Iron Giant is a set piece from the World of Wanderhome, inspired by The Iron Man by Ted Hughes.
It is part Playbook, and part Nature — a place as well as a being. The Iron Giant exists, in more ways than one.
It is designed to be played by the group over a long period of time.
You were crafted by talented paws and imbued with life through unknown means. You might be a doll, a marionette, a scarecrow, or something else, but whatever you are, you are alive — yet not quite like those around you. Your care is observant, emotional, and unsure.
The Construct is a playbook from the World of Wanderhome, influenced by Girl Underground, Frankenstein, and Pinocchio.
Thank you to Lauren and Jesse for allowing me to use their beautiful playbook as inspiration. Check out Girl Underground - it is absolutely fantastic!
You are a worm. You are alive. Your hat is long, special, and wrigglesome.
This playbook was made as a bit of a joke as part of a playbook jam on the Wanderhome Fan Server. But oh no - it has wriggled its way out! It's been played in sessions, and is pretty nice, if unconventional!
There’s an unusual goose loose in the Hæth!
Are the animal-folk ready? Are you ready?
Listen to the song of the road... Does it sound like honking?
You are a goose. You are alive. Your care is chaotic, hoardsome, and full of honks.
The Goose is a playbook about honking, from the World of Wanderhome. It was inspired by Untitled Goose Game, and made on the unofficial Wanderhome Discord server by: trouser_mouse, Caleb C., WhatNames, and Jacob Porter.
Caleb drew the beautiful goose.
A Goose Event is an event element that can be used in conjunction with different existing Natures to introduce The Goose and let them loose in the Hæth!
The dark is beautiful, deep, terrifying — and necessary. Without the dark, we would not see the stars shine. Even in the emptiest of spaces, there is always hope and always dreams of how things could be better. You are alive. Your care is vast, knowing, and out of this world.
The Astronaut is a playbook from the World of Wanderhome, influenced by Doctor Who, wild theories about ancient astronauts, and old sci-fi.
You are a keeper of books and sometimes of silences. Your ways might seem old-fashioned to some, but you always try to keep those around you safe — whatever the trouble may be. You are alive. Your care is sincere, well-read, and rooted in things stranger than most realise.
The Librarian is a playbook from the World of Wanderhome.
If you also want to explore The Library, see here!
The Library is a place to meet, research, or maybe find that elusive book.
The Library is a nature from the World of Wanderhome. It was made for a playbook and nature jam on the unofficial Wanderhome Discord server.
If you would like to play The Librarian, see here!
The Closet is a place with forgotten nooks and untouched dark corners where old toys lay discarded and forgotten. Time ticks on in the world outside, but not in The Closet: the toys lay, wishing for the time when they get to run, play and tell amazing stories together once more.
The Closet is not really part of the Hæth, but sometimes — when the time is right — wishes can come true.
The Closet is a nature from the World of Wanderhome.
The Model Village is a nature from the World of Wanderhome.
It is a place to appreciate the Hæthland from on high, or inspect it intensely as close as you can get.
Where Love Once Thrived is a nature from the World of Wanderhome, inspired by the words of Paul Heaton.
It is a place to reflect and maybe celebrate love for its own sake, rather than find it doesn’t live up to your expectations.
The Lavoir is a communal place for the washing of clothes.
When you arrive at this place, decide which item of clothing you really need to wash, and why that might cause you a problem.
The Lavoir is a nature from the World of Wanderhome.
The Travelling Stadium is a huge performance venue carried on the back of a giant beetle.
The Travelling Stadium is a nature from the World of Wanderhome.
An unofficial playbook template for Wanderhome to use in Affinity Publisher or Google Slides.
